    How Invisalign Works

Not only are the aligners virtually invisible, they are removable, so you can eat and drink what you want while in treatment. Plus, brushing and flossing are no problem. They are also more comfortable than traditional braces, with no metal or wires, which also usually means you spend less time in at the practice getting adjustments. Invisalign treatment also allows you to view your own virtual treatment plan when you start so you can see how your straight teeth will look when your treatment is complete.

We use ITERO software, which scans your mouth to give digital impressions. This will show you what your teeth currently look like, with a simulation of how your teeth will look after treatment. This makes the procedure more comfortable then traditional impressions, and will cut time to start treatment from 3 months to 4-6 weeks!

You wear each set of aligners for about one or two weeks depending on your treatment plan, removing them only to eat, drink, brush, and floss. As you replace each aligner with the next in the series, your teeth will move — little by little, week by week — until they have straightened to their final positions. You’ll visit us about once every four to six weeks to ensure that your treatment is progressing as planned. Total treatment time averages nine to 15 months and the average number of aligners worn during treatment is between 12 and 30, but both will vary from case to case.

    Smile Direct vs. Invisalign

You may have heard of places such as Smile Direct, that offer teeth straightening kits from home. However, a Dentist Led process is always advised – this is because you will get professional dentist checks and specialist advice, as well as dental supervision throughout the whole process. This ensures that you are happy with your Invisalign, and also allows for any oral health issues to be resolved before treatment – ensuring a successful outcome.

    COVID Safety Measures

Here at Pearl Smile, we are working hard to ensure that your visit to the dental practice will be a safe experience. We have put lots of procedures and policies in place, which you can read here. We have installed the world leading air purifiers virus killer units in all rooms and waiting room and toilets – with near to 100% virus killing rate. We have also bought the 3m Versaflow full hood, to provide better protection to patients and dentist in all procedures.
